Paying for college

So has anybody been like seriously stressed out lately?? If so, you are definitely not alone!! Senior year is extremely hectic with applying to college to just trying to pass classes, we have a lot on our plates. One of the biggest barriers we may be facing is figuring out how were going to pay for college. The truth is that paying for college should not be as big of an issue as we make it seem. As a matter of fact, there is more than $185 billion in financial aid available and their may not even be extraneous applications that you may have to complete. For example starting January 1, 2014 you may begin completing their FASFA applications. With this application, you will have access to any federal grant and aid that you will be able to receive in fall 2014. Filling out a FASFA form is extremely important because with the completion of it many colleges will now be able to assess your eligibility for other need based scholarships from their school. For those of you looking to stay in Ga, make sure you are aware of the HOPE and Zell Miller requirements. For HOPE scholarships, you must graduate from high school with at least a 3.0 and maintain that GPA throughout your college career. For Zell Miller( which pays for full tuition at most Georgia public schools), you must graduate from high school with at least a 3.7 and a 1200 on the SAT (CR+ Math) or have made at least a 26 on the ACT. you also are automatically give Zell Miller if you are awarded your schools valedictorian or salutatorian. To maintain your Zell Miller eligibility through college, you must maintain at least a 3.3 GPA. Both of these opportunities are amazing but remember they are only available if you are attending a college or university in the state of Georgia!
