I wish I could play basketball like every other black kid but I suck.

Superbowl 48

In Superbowl 48 Peyton Manning and the Denver broncos were pick as the favorite to win. Peyton Manning had a career changing season breaking several league records and captured his 5th league MVP. The  Denver broncos offense was highly praised but where a no-show when it was time time play. The Seattle Seahawks defense shut down the broncos on there first three consecutive drives. Russell Wilson made it no easier the broncos when he came out with a strong performance when he was questioned because of his inexperience. The Seahawks ended up winning in a blow out of 43-8.

Super Bowl (Adonis Bradford)

The Super Bowl was very exiting and well anticipated. Though nobody expected the outcome to turn out as it did, it was still a lot of hype surrounding the game before the actual kickoff. It was a battle between the best defense in the nfl and arguably the best offense ever in the nfl. The outcome ended up Seahawks 43 and Broncos 8. The game slowly became less and less entertaining and showed a lot about both teams.

The Young Rosewood Club-NaKayla Williams

Quality, Distinction, and limitless. A summation of the Rosewood brand, a club of principle, leadership, community, and education transforming young girls and boys into men and women rich in class; a lifestyle that develops confidence and character; a club every kid would want to be a part of; the future régime that will make students exceptional and timeless. Young Rosewood of Atlanta. # The Privileged Few.
The Rosewood Club was found by Hampton University in 2011 by Roger Browne-Perryman. Wanting to make his college experience riveting and something to remember he decided to change in pursuit of his goals and aspirations. In the late hours of the night he came up with the brilliant idea of club filled with students just like him wanting to be an important part of their community and making a positive impact on themselves and their culture.
Members of the club must possess a certain mentality and have a positive attitude when it comes to school, work, extracurricular activities and other goal they try to pursue.
It was on the faithful day of September 28, 2011 he established the Rosewood Club with other founder members David Fontaine from Sacramento, California, Deon “Lance” Heyliger from Montgomery County, Maryland; Desmond “ Dez “ Purse from New York, New York; `William Boler from Durham, North Carolina; Safiya Ellis from Detroit, Illinois; Jamal Smith from Long Island, New York , Joi Miles from Baltimore, Maryland; and Jonathan “Jonny” Moore from Baltimore, Maryland.
Now Young Rosewood is a club reaching out to students all over Atlanta but especially in DeKalb County. The president, Kristopher Jones , and other club members,  Darius Jackson and DeMarcus Penn,  are Southwest DeKalb alumni. They presented what Young Rosewood was all about and now Southwest DeKalb will be the first members of Young Rosewood.
To get students more excited about joining,  Young Rosewood hosted a New Year’s Party and sold tickets to SWD students. Even students from Arabia were in attendance in black and white looking dressed to impress. Senior Nettie Brown said, “I saw a lot of old friends from Chapel Hill and other schools and it was a nice reunion. Everyone looked really nice.” Senior Kris Anderson went as well. He said, “The best part about it was not a regular twerk-fest house party but a more upscale event where you can go to impress and not depress.”
The people over, Kris (the president) are good people. The club is all about giving back to community and participating in community events such as feeding the homeless.
Over 300 tickets were sold for the New Year’s Eve. Each ticket was $5 but at the door they were $7. The party lasted from 9-1.

Being accepted to the club is not easy. Kris said “You have to fill out an application and meet the requirements. You have to work hard. The representatives of Young Rosewood unfortunately did not make it to Arabia but came to some of the games which is how some people found out.  The party was worth the long lines and money. It was clean cut and a learning experience. Both Nettie and Kris are hopeful Principal Swanson will help put Arabia on the map for Young Rosewood and Arabia will be front and center for their next event. So Arabia Mountain get ready to join the privileged few

Highlights of the Grammy's

On Sunday, January 26,2014 the worlds show that was most talked about was the 56th Grammy's were the opening act was Beyonce and her husband and they did a phenomenal job compared me and other students around the school. I will always remember the opening performance because it showed a couple that has power and and can give a great performance. One of the most talked about celebrities after the Grammy's was Pharrell Williams because the brown hat he wore that looked like an animal inside his hat. The performnace that hear everyone loves was the Kendrick Lamar performance because he proved in his performance that he should have won for best new artist over Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis by going all in when he performed.  on this show people feel the need to express themselves in any way possible by either dressing in a different way are say things that come to mind in order to get more camera fame then anything. I loved this year's Grammy's but the Taylor Swift performance was one performance that i didn't like at all along with all other people.

90s Fashion (January Blog Post)

In the 90s, the fashion was completely unique to everyone. Most of what we wear today is, or was inspired by 90s. Some of these trends include bright sweaters, ripped jeans, starter jackets, high-waisted jeans, and Air Jordans. These trends make this generation's teens appear more cool, or chill. As times continue to move forward, the fashion continues to repeat itself. Don't be surprised if we're rocking afros, and bell bottoms to exemplify the 70s.
